Many revolve around women.
A big one is Angela McLean.
What the hell does she have planned? I’m sorry, but a nice comfy stay at the Commissioner of Higher Ed’s office for several years doesn’t satisfy me.
- Have you noticed her being a bit more active on Twitter?
- Have you noticed a new profile photo, one with the hair down?
- Could she be planning something?
My goodness, let us hope so.
Let us hope someone challenges Bullock. Let’s hope even more that someone beats him.
Alas, this would disrupt the D.C. hooks that are embedding themselves into our Helena politicians.
Lot of back East political nonsense in the Helena Cabal right now.
Oh, and who is this Helena Cabal?
I think it looks like this:
- Steve Bullock
- Eric Feaver
- Eric Stern
- David Parker
- Tracy Stone-Manning
- John Engen
- Royce Engstrom
- Nancy Keenan
Nancy Keenan is a big problem for Bullock.
My, she is ineffective, isn’t she? I guess she sits in her office all day and coordinates the various Democratic attacks, like a general on the hill.
She’s losing, she’s losing bad.
I guess when that happens you put on your game face and make the best of it.
My is that pathetic.
We saw that pathetic-ness on full display here in Missoula on Thursday.
The Anti-Gianforte press conference was almost an embarrassment.
I saw lots of Democrats cowering in the doorway, wondering if they should even come in.
I expect most didn’t want to. They knew this was a charade, one designed by Keenan at every of the 8-cities that Gianforte stopped in.
Well, maybe not Lewistown and Sidney – I’m not sure they’d have enough Democrats to have a meeting.
The point is, Keenan’s idea of a successful push for both Bullock and the 50 or so Democrats running for the legislature was to bash, bash, bash.
There was no discussion of the issues at the event I went to, and if I hadn’t have asked, there wouldn’t have been!
That’s why Keenan’s a big problem for Bullock – she’s sniffed out the wrong message.
I guess you can’t blame her – 10 years as a corporate lackey in D.C. will do that to you.
She was on the front lines of our nation’s fixation with abortion for years. We all know it’s defense and attack with that shit, defense and attack.
Montana Democrats can’t afford to run and hide from the bushes all the time, however – they need to be out there, getting their message to the voters.
Notice I say their message, not Bullock’s, not the Helena cabal’s.
What is their message? That really comes down to each candidate. For instance, on Thursday we saw quite a bit from Kim Dudik and quite a bit from Andrew Person.
The main difference between those two is that Dudik has an in with Tim Fox through all the work she’s done. She’s created a niche for herself.
Person hasn’t done that, though he does have the unique status of being a veteran of Iraq.
I’m not sure it’ll be enough in this year when people are pissed, the economy is tanking, and most of us don’t see our lives improving.
I have to remind you, many of us have been told time and time again that our lives will be worse than our parents.
What is there to look forward to for us?
For me, I look forward to tearing down those in power that have allowed such a situation to come about.
Most Americans and most Montanans, however, will just sit and watch their multi-channel TV.
That’s why Bullock needs all his dark money and PAC donations.
He can’t sign Gianforte’s pledge because if he did so he’d have no money to bombard us with on the TV.
Democrats are currently trying to make it seem like it’s bad to become rich and fund your own campaign.
This is the mentality that is bred from years of living in assisted housing, living on government benefits…much like Democrats push us to do here in Missoula.
That’s the Engen-angle of the Helena Cabal. We know Bullock is from Missoula, we know he views Engen as a good friend and source of advice.
Is it any wonder why we see so many Gianforte attacks from Dems, so much nonsense that things are going well for everyone?
These people are on the defensive because they’re doing a terrible job.
You might remember my frustrations with deciphering U.S. Census data a year ago.
It’s because starting decades ago we began doing data differently. That’s why our 4% unemployment number is bullshit.
Whether it's missing workers, increasing long-term unemployment from 90 to 260 weeks, or just a big lie, we know the numbers are 'off.'
So many people are out of work in Montana that it’s not even funny. We just don’t work here – we take from the feds.
We pride ourselves on our entrepreneurial spirit, mainly because there’s no jobs and we have to make money any way we can.
It doesn’t help when we have economists like Dick Barrett telling us all of Gianforte’s numbers on layoffs with the Colstrip plant closures are bogus.
I’m sorry, but will only one county be affected?
Hell, what about Big Horn and Powder River Counties? I guess they just won’t be affected, only Rosebud County.
How should we know? I don’t see much reporting going on in the press.
Well, it’s a shifting line-up, the Montana press. Just this week we had Sanjay Talwani head on over to the Monica Lindeen camp from MTN.
Boy, Lindeen’s a sorry case – there’s no way she’ll get past Obamacare’s monumental rate increases for successful people living in rural counties.
She was done before she even got started.
I view the Juneau/Zinke race the same way.
Denise Juneau isn’t going to the U.S. House – no Democrats are for some time.
Democrats in Montana are boring.
Brian Schweitzer wasn’t boring, and that’s why about 80% of the state liked him.
Steve Bullock’s boring, however, as lawyers often are.
The rest of the party is boring too, however.
There’s no ideas!
It’s just bash and attack, bash and attack.
God people are sick of that.
I think we’ll see that reflected at the polls this year.
Instead of focusing on a message of hope, Democrats are focusing on a message of negativity and tearing down.
Remember, they’re on defense, big time.
Firm up the ranks and make sure there’s no dissent, that’s the Montana Democratic Party today.
And boy do they hate it when people do not fall in line.
Those brave/stupid souls get bashed, cutoff and ridiculed. You see this a lot with me on social media and the fake Twitter accounts that pop up.
What have I done that’s so offensive?
Well, I spoke about Bullock’s alleged affair.
I spoke about Bullock giving his adviser’s girlfriend a cushy new position.
That’s corruption, but I shouldn't talk about it. I should take one for the team.
What makes me so sick is that so many Democrats across the state just look the other way, just take one for the team.
So much for looking after women’s well-being, huh?
The hypocrisy of the Democratic Party is what finally turned me off all those months ago.
National is hopeless, with Hillary raising tons for Wall Street. God, I can’t wait until she goes to prison. Let us pray that the Justice Department is sent after her, however unlikely that may seem.
There are still some decent people in the world, after all, and someone at Justice might do the right thing and have her arrested.
Here in Montana it’s Bullock’s terrible treatment of women while the Party bashes the GOP over abortion.
I don’t care about abortion, myself.
I think Planned Parenthood does a great job providing lots of things to women and families.
Most don’t go for abortions, however.
And let’s not forget – there was never any slander charges brought when Planned Parenthood initiated their lawsuit over that infamous video.
When you don’t bring slander charges it often means the thing the person spoke of or reported is true.
Since we know that abortions only affect about 1% of the population I don't think most people care.
The best thing for the Gianforte campaign is if Democrats keep harping on abortion and LGBT issues.
If they do that, Gianforte wins.
Maybe that’s the idea. After all, Keenan will get a lot more fundraising for her pet causes should that happen.
It really is all about money, not you or your family or your future of course.
Don't be stupid!
It’s about money for the top, those select few individuals like we see in the Helena Cabal.
They have no worries over money, none at all.
I guess Gianforte doesn’t either, however.
There’s a guy that doesn’t give one lick about me – I made about $20,000 last year…he’s a billionaire.
I can kiss whatever kind of low-income energy assistance and food stamp help goodbye should he get elected.
When he cuts taxes for his rich buddies, I’ll have to pay more taxes at the end of the year to the state.
Also, it’s likely that he’ll join with American Lands Council to transfer federal lands to the state so he can sell them to his rich buddies.
I have no doubt about any of that at all, not a single doubt.
Gianforte’s rich and cares about rich people.
I’m a poor person and care about poor people.
We’ll never see eye to eye.
Sadly, Democrats don’t care about me either.
We’ll see whether Bullock or Gianforte can convince me that they’ll help me more.
Good luck, guys – you’ll need it.
Right now you’re both so out of touch it’s not even funny.
- Steve, you’re out of state so much raising dark money that you have no idea what’s going on in my life or what I care about.
- Greg, your telecommuting plan will affect so few that it’s not a viable job-creation plan in any sense…and where are most of us going to get the education we need to get those telecommuting jobs? No, tax cuts for the rich and the cutting of benefits for my poor ass – that’s all I’ll get from you.
So there is no hope for Montanans in 2016, unless you’re in the miniscule minority that feeds from the table scraps of those two men and their entourages.
Welcome to Election 2016.
