Alright…it’s nearly a week and a half since the midterms.
Wow…nothing changed.
Two more years of grid-lock and nothing getting done.
Anything that does get done sure won’t benefit common working people.
Our wages will stagnate further, inflation will get worse, housing will grow further out of reach, and retirement will become more and more distant.
I read a report yesterday that said unless you’re making $100,000 a year now, home ownership is simply out of reach for you.
So that’s just about everyone in Montana…unless you’re part of the Yellowstone transplant crowd.
No, nothing’s going to get better. Not with this clown car of freaks running the show.
Dem…GOP…it doesn’t really matter who’s in charge or if it’s close to a tie. With both parties being the only ones in town, you know your night’s gonna be shit.
The corporations control both parties and the old fogies they put in charge of them. It’s a big turn-off for most voters, especially young people, who just don’t give a fuck.
A big problem for Dems is who’s running the show.
I saw this clearly when I went to Missoula Election HQ a few weeks ago.
Having recently moved, I needed to go there in-person to re-register to vote. All of the people working there were old women.
They didn’t move too quickly.
Montana Dems have an old woman leading them now, Robyn Driscoll, who made it as far as county commissioner in the Billings area.
The Dem Party in Montana has been led by old, gray-haired women for over a decade now. These women have no balls and it’s clearly reflected in the ideas and issues they push.
They’re boring. They’re uninspiring. They’re out-of-touch.
Voters know it. There’s absolutely nothing to get excited about.
Dems think abortion - an issue that affects fewer than 1% of our population - is their driving issue.
How clueless they are.
Another fun one they trot out is climate change, and how this will be the death of us all.
Are you kidding me? A one degree change in temperature over the past 100 years and I’m supposed to turn into Chicken Little? Give me a break!
The real issues are always economic. Here’s what voters really care about...saving money in the face of what the Fed has done to us:
Mostly, here in Montana the Dems try to be like the national Dems and it kills them. Then they wonder why the GOP is headed for a supermajority in the legislature in a couple months.
Well, when you leave 36 legislative races uncontested and don’t even bother to field a candidate, yeah…that can happen.
But Dems will continue with their tired old women. This is who they choose to lead the party.
And you know what…maybe that’s alright. So what if they can’t win any statewide or federal offices or take the legislature? At least women are in charge of their little club.
Because that’s all the Montana Democratic Party is anymore - a veritable knitting club of old women darning their way into obscurity.
It’s shameful their ego-driven outlook on life prevents them from seeing the true issues impacting Montanans.
It ain’t bathrooms or abortions or climate change.
But they believe it is, whole-heartedly and with a vehement passion that cannot be argued or debated with, lest you be called a racist, misogynist, or whatever other term is in vogue this week with the corporate handlers pushing ‘the news.’
Regular voters stopped buying it a long time ago.
But the Montana Dems can’t stop selling it.
So they lose.
It’s the same story every year.
At least Pelosi’s career in politics seems to be over.
Maybe someone should tell that to Trump as well.
We know from a recent Politico poll that Trump has the support of 47% of potential GOP voters, to DeSantis’s 33%.
Mike Pence might be in the corporate, Dem-controlled news this week because he says he’ll likely run for president, he has a new book out, and he opposes the idea of four more years of Trump.
He has just 5% support from Republican voters.
That actually makes him third in the race.
Personally, I like DeSantis. He’s climbed from 18% support before the midterms, nearly doubling to 33%.
But a lot can happen in two years, a lot.
I don’t really like the idea of listening to Trump for the next two years on the campaign trail. Maybe if we’re lucky he’ll do so poorly he’ll drop out. Or his health could give out and he’ll be forced to, or he’ll simply die on the campaign trail.
All of those are very strong possibilities.
Another strong possibility is that he does really well, wins, and is the president again. But I don’t see him living out his term.
But hey - Biden’s made it this far, and many of us never thought he’d live this long.
So anything is possible.
