What issues are important to people in Montana? Last February I discussed issues important to Montana businesses, but I think that’s when I still cared about being elected, so sucked up more. Now I don’t really give a damn, so issues that concern people interest me more.
You read a lot of the stuff I throw up on this site, as well as the stuff on other sites. According to a great piece by Corey Hutchins today on Columba Journalism Review, Last Best Place gets “between 1,200 and 1,500 visitors a day.” Montana Cowgirl gets about 1,700 each day, I think. I’m not sure what other sites get, but I’m pulling in about 500 a day, and many come from Montana:
So it’s pretty much up to blogs, the way I see it. We’re not constrained by length requirements, besides those we make for ourselves, and we can discuss anything under the sun. Well, we know that newspapers can do that too – it was clear after the dual firings that Lee didn’t care about content, just profits.
I dunno, it’s tough. Let’s not squabble in the mud thinking about it, but instead look at this list of issues to vote on. There are 6 separate polls, and you can vote on what you think is the most important issues in each:
Will people vote? Maybe, but I’m not counting on a lot of votes, to be completely honest. I actually think things will go way downhill, or it won’t work, or something else.
Nonetheless, I’ll tally the results and put up a post soon. Thanks!
