Today the soon-to-be laid-off workers at the Missoulian put up an “opinion editor’s note.”
They mentioned that they’re receiving tons of letters-to-the-editor, and they just can’t find enough space to print them all.
Over a week ago, I penned a letter-to-the-editor myself.
It was never printed.
In fact, it was so controversial that the Missoulian’s soon-to-be laid-off workers didn’t even bother emailing me or phoning me to tell me they wouldn’t be printing it.
They just ignored me.
And I don’t blame them.
Why would they want common, working-class citizens questioning those in charge of this sleepy mountain town?
They wouldn’t.
Letter
Over 20,000 Americans have died from the flu this year.
6,000 will die from slipping and falling in their bathtub.
Around 1,000 have died from Coronavirus this year.
Currently no one has died in Missoula from this virus, though six people do have it.
Because of those single-digit cases, we’ve decided to throw thousands of people out of work.
We’ve decided to ruin hundreds of small businesses.
We’ve destroyed our economy.
Well...not ‘we’...just four individuals: Ellen Leahy, Josh Slotnick, Dave Strohmaier, and Juanita Vero.
Four people that make their living off of your taxes.
To add insult to injury, one of these individuals - Josh Slotnick - is complaining that he won’t be able to make all his rental income this month.
You know...rent from the people he threw out of work with his policies.
What a character.
My greatest hope is that we’ll remove these three county commissioners from office in their next election; that we’ll get rid of Leahy as well.
These people think they’re saving lives. The truth is that they’re ruining lives, decimating our economy, and destroying this town.
