So here it goes.
Come the end of the legislative session in April, Mike Cooney will step down as Lieutenant Governor.
Replacing him will be the governor’s budget director, Dan Villa.
Bullock will run for Tester’s seat in 2018.
It’s not known whether Tester will choose not to run again or whether Bullock thinks he can primary him.
Should Bullock be elected, he’d step down from the governor’s office.
Villa would become governor in early-2019, just in time for the 2020 campaign season to begin.
