Advice for Zinke
Ryan, go hunting.
Go out in the woods for a few days and get away from it all.
Leave your phone and certainly don’t look at the internet. After all, there’s nothing good there for you.
Low-level Democratic staffers are bombarding you on social media about your support for Trump.
Remember, Ryan…these people are being paid to do this.
Not a one of them would dedicate their free time to lambasting you…at least for any sustained period of time, like years.
I already see that today their 'efforts' have fallen off. Yep, it's a Sunday...and they're probably not being paid.
No, Ryan, these are party hacks that’ll say and do anything that the superiors tell them to.
Right now, Ryan, that means going after you because you like Trump.
Again, go hunting.
Say ‘fuck them.”
Who cares what these people think? None of them are voting for you and no Juneau supporters are going over to you.
But guess what? None of your supporters are going over to her, either.
So like most political ‘stories,’ this is pure rubbish.
Ignore it and wait a few days and another big story will come out.
More than likely, it’ll be one making the Dems look dumb.
You’ll know when that happens, Ryan – they’ll jump on you twice as much as usual to try and cover up their own fuck-ups.
But you know that.
It’s why you’re laughing at them now.
Just remember, if you decide to wade into the bullshit and stop supporting Trump, everyone will be laughing at you.
Making Them Your Own
They win all the rural seats and take the legislature each year.
Democrats are powerless to stop this…or so they think.
It’s important to remember that many of the GOP’s own members are not happy with their party, or the party ideas.
We saw this during the summer when the GOP would not pay travel expenses for members that did not agree “to sign and uphold the platform.”
Most of the time we call these members the moderates of the GOP party in Montana.
What do they want…what do they believe in…what will it take for their constituents to kick them out and vote in a Democrat?
We know that the main issues of the GOP platform in Montana are jobs, taxation, agriculture, immigration, education, and a few more.
What is the GOP saying on these issues that’s continually winning them the hard-to-win areas of the state?
Why are those voters continuously voting in GOP legislators…and why do they often vote for Democratic governors?
These are questions the Montana Democratic Party should be asking itself.
Alas, they spend most of their time on social media bashing the other guy instead of coming up with concrete solutions to make your life better.
One of the most concrete solutions is figuring out how to take back the state legislature.
To do that you have to figure out how to win in those rural counties.
To do that you need to know what voters in those areas care about.
Do we?
It doesn’t seem like it as we keep losing those areas.
That’s why I really hope the Democrats will begin taking some of the GOP issues and making them their own.
Far from viewing this as a strategy, however, Montana Democrats view it as abhorrent, a compromise of their principles, and a violation of what they think it means to be a Montanan.
So they lose, and they lose the legislature, and your life never gets better.
The Montana Democratic Party calls this ‘leadership.’
In Brief
That’ll make it easier for their 400-strong staff to screw us come January when the company’s rates go up by 62%.
Of course, the level of care you receive won’t change.
You’ll just pay more for exactly what you’re getting now.
The 1% loves to cheat you this way, and you gladly bend over and take it.
Don’t worry – you’re an American: this is what our educational institutions brainwash us to do.
