Today we’ll discuss covid and the vaccines.
Right now we know that 64% of all active duty military members are fully vaccinated.
Back in February, over 33% of members said they didn’t want the vaccine, and the Pentagon said it couldn’t force them to take it.
"The vaccine, unlike many other inoculations, is not required by the military at this time because it has been approved for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration," the New York Times reported at the time, adding "Once it becomes a standard, approved vaccine, the military can order troops to take the shot."
That was a lie.
Like most of our ‘leaders,’ the former arms dealer that supplied the Middle East wars - and who’s now heading-up the Pentagon - has done a complete-180.
Nearly all of the things we were told during the campaign - and even over the past few months - have been proven to be lies.
Governor DeSantis in Florida made a good point yesterday, calling the President out for his bold-faced lies.
"This is a guy that ran for president saying he would shut down the virus. He was not going to shut down America or the economy. He would shut down the virus. Yet what is he doing? He is bringing in people from over 100 different countries across the southern border," he said.
"Every variant on this planet – some we don't even know about -- are absolutely coming into our country that way."
"He is lecturing people about imposing COVID restrictions and lockdowns and not only doing nothing to stop the border surge but actually facilitating it on the other hand, he just loses all credibility when it comes to COVID."
It’s hard to argue with the Florida governor’s point.
And why is it so important for me, a multi-generational American, to get the jab when we see 180,000 illegal migrants crossing the border each month, none of whom get the jab, and many of whom have covid?
And yes, I do know about this new idea to vaccinate everyone as they come into the country. My question is...why the hell are they coming into the country at all? It’s illegal!
The hypocrisy is so glaring.
The only hope Biden has now is to mandate the vaccine at some level, likely by getting most of the major corporations to mandate it for him.
Sadly for him, many states have made that illegal, Montana being one. In May, Governor Gianforte signed HB 702 into law, prohibiting discrimination based on one’s vaccination status.
How will this affect Walmart’s new national policy that all employees get vaccinated? After all, we have around 4,600 Walmart employees in this state.
HB 702 is quite telling on this issue:
“Does this law apply to my employer?
Yes. The law prohibits an employer from refusing employment, barring a person from employment, or discriminating in any term, condition, or privilege of employment based on vaccination status or whether the person has an immunity passport.”
Which will hold more force in the court of law...Walmart’s company-wide decree, or the laws of the state it operates in?
And if Montana gets its way and Walmart is forced to backdown, reversing itself and allowing unvaccinated people to keep working...what will be the consequences of that?
Is Walmart really going to close all its stores in this state because of this issue? For some reason, I doubt it.
And that’s why Walmart excluded retail workers from their vaccine mandate, only forcing workers at the company’s headquarters to take it.
But how long’s that gonna last?
And let’s focus on Arkansas for a moment, where Walmart’s HQ is located...and which just so happens to be a state with its own law against vaccine mandates, signed into law a couple weeks before ours.
That opens a whole new can of worms.
And, when/if Walmart violates this new Arkansas law - which they surely will when it fully takes effect on October 4- then what are the consequences?
If we went by Montana’s law, people discriminated against by their employers based on vaccination status should contact the Montana Human Rights Bureau to file a complaint. I imagine they have a similar process in Arkansas.
Here in Montana, no fines will be given to violators, but the violator is allowed to rectify the situation...which in this case would likely mean reinstating full-employment for that individual.
And what if Walmart refuses to do so?
At that point, Walmart’s lawyers would likely get involved...and just about everyone else’s. Oh, and trust me - this is going to be happening all over the country in the coming weeks and months as more and more companies run up against red state laws.
We haven’t even discussed Disney’s mandate that its 200,000 employees get vaccinated, many of whom work in Florida...another state with laws against such mandates (we don’t know yet how many or which Disney employees have to get the shot within the next 60 days, putting it in line with the Walmart October 4 deadline, which likely will set up one helluva showdown in the courts).
Currently, the governor of Arkansas is saying publicly that he regrets signing a mandate against masks into law, and I’ll bet he’ll start walking back his vaccination mandate law pretty quick here, too.
Walmart will begin to apply pressure on him, likely calling in favors for the thousands of dollars they donated to his various campaigns over the years.
It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out, and how the media spins it.
Things are moving fast these days, with shocking new developments happening each and everyday.
