I debated for the past week whether to even put up this post.
- First, they’re predictions...and if you get them wrong you might look silly. I often look silly, however, so oh well.
- Then, I think it’s a bit superfluous. Personally, I think many of us already know how things are going to play out.
- Finally, who cares? So few read Montana blogs these days. Each of the Montana blogs is lucky to get a couple hundred people a day, and many of those visitors only read the headlines...if that.
But we continue the slog, and we’ll likely continue it well into next year.
My, next year is going to be negative, too. 2019 was just the warm-up to the vast levels of negativity that we’ll see.
My goal is to stay positive. It’s going to be incredibly difficult.
Anyways...Mike Dennison put up his 2020 outlook post last week.
Over at RD, there’s a bit more pessimism about the coming year. Whether it’s the economy, housing in Missoula, or the possibility of global-thermal nuclear war...well, things don’t look good.
Now, let’s get started.
Montana Statewide Races...
I predict that Greg Gianforte will beat out Tim Fox in the GOP primary, and that he’ll also go on to win the race in November. It’ll probably be close, with him winning by just 2-3%.
Steve Daines will have an easy time getting his second term in the Senate, mostly because he has such inexperienced and such unknown opponents. We’ll have a better idea of how this race will go after a Dem wins the primary in 153 days, but I think it’s Daines’ to lose. I suspect he’ll win by 8% or more.
I think Matt Rosendale will get into Congress, beating Kathleen Williams by about the same numbers as Gianforte beat her last time - 50.8% to 46.2%, with the Libertarian taking about 3%. Remember, we had six Dems in the ‘18 primary, and Kathleen took it with 33%...just 1.8% above her nearest competitor.
For AG, I hope Bennion wins but I’m worried that Knudsen will primary him, riding Gianforte’s coattails. Right now it seems that Graybill has the best chance at winning the primary, mainly because he has the support of the Helena swamp. This race will probably be close, but I suspect the GOP will take it by 3-4%.
SoS is an interesting one, and one that Dems still have a chance to win. Currently the GOP has a rather spurious cast of characters running for this open seat, as Stapleton is abandoning it for a run at Congress. I think Greenwood and Sales have the best shot at getting the nod come June. It’s incredibly likely that the GOP candidate will win, if the Dem is Bryce Bennett. Bennett is gay, and unless the Dems find a viable candidate that can win rural and religious voters statewide, I feel this race is already lost to them.
Auditor rarely gets attention, mostly because people have no idea what this office is or what it does. The name doesn’t help, but voters decided against changing that. This is the one race where I really don’t know. Troy Downing will probably win the GOP primary, and right now Morigeau is the only Dem running. I think John Morrison might still get in. He has about 80 days until the filing deadline. Hopefully the GOP will field a better candidate than the carpetbagger Downing.
OPI is Arntzen’s to lose at this point, unless a viable Dem challenger comes along. Romano’s husband ruined whatever chances she had.
Legislature and Local…
Hell would have to freeze over for Dems to pick up even one chamber of the legislature next year. We’ll have a better idea at their chances when candidate filing starts in a few weeks. Many have filed C1s already, mostly Dems in the cities, where they have to fight tough primary battles against each other. It’s difficult for them to find candidates outside the cities. Currently, the legislature is set to go to the GOP again next year.
I think that the Montana Democrats will get an old woman with gray hair to serve as their next executive director. This makes sense - when you look at social media images of candidates having coffee shop events, most of the dozen or so people there are old women with gray hair, women that sometimes drag their gray-haired husbands along (I don’t really think most of those men want to go to those things).
I think that median housing prices in Bozeman and Missoula will reach $400,000 before the year is out.
Around the world…
I think that in 2020, we’ll finally end the war in Afghanistan.
I think Trump will make some kind of deal with China, and perhaps he’ll make one with North Korea as well. It really is important for Trump to get a lot done in the months leading up to the election. I suspect we’ll see some big things.
And yes, I do think that Trump will win and get another term. I also think the economy will head south shortly after he gets that second term, which will probably ruin his presidency.
Trump has never been impeached. If it isn’t offered to the Senate, it doesn’t happen.
The Cold War ended 30 years ago. Communism was nearly snuffed-out...but not quite. The Hegelian-dualism remained. The military-industrial complex rejoiced. They just had to wait. Took awhile, but they got an 18-year quagmire in Afghanistan, and 16 years in Iraq. But they want Iran. The Persians. They’ve wanted it bad for years. Perhaps they’ll get it soon. I hope not. Let’s hope not. The last thing we need is a war with Iran...no matter how much the globalists want us to get into one.
In the Media…
I told you last week that I think we’ll lose one of the main Lee daily newspapers.
I think we’ll see a couple new blogs pop-up, though probably not as many of the kind I’d like (Logicosity comes to mind), and probably more of the kind I don’t like, which will probably be paid for by Party hacks.
We might begin to have a reckoning with how the media has changed. Decades ago, the media introduced us to things we never would have sought-out on our own. Today, we choose what we search for, and our minds have been narrowed considerably as a result.
I suspect that the Montana Post will begin making $1,000 a month from its readers sometime this year, probably after the primaries when things really heat up. Oh yeah...it’s gonna get negative!
I will probably write a lot less. In the first three months of this year, I put up 46 posts. Then from April until October I put up just 34. I’ve put up 42 over the past three months. There are two reasons for this - there’s just not that much to write about, especially as our local reporters report on less, and I’m just busier than ever with work and kids.
The Astrological/Occult…and the end of our talk together...
I stayed up late to get most of this info from Coast to Coast AM, so take it for what you will.
Our central banks are controlling the economy just as the Politburo used to control theirs.
57%
Hegemony don’t last forever. Ours is coming to an end.
Gemini-Uranus...that’s Trump’s thing. That’s the reason he didn’t retaliate against Iran last year.
Oh, but they’re trying to lure him in again.
It’s critically important for the global elite to go to war in the Middle East so the two eagles are brought into the conflict. The eagles...American and Russia.
We get those two and we pull in their allies. Mutual-protection pacts. WWI all over again.
The 2020s are going to begin an unravelling that will take place over a series of years (2020, 2024, 2026). The 2,000-year cycle of holding the downtrodden down is coming to an end. My, I wish I was in the pitchfork-selling-industry - I’d make bank!
The old media isn’t reporting this; the new media is. The people are rising up in many countries. Old systems are coming to an end. It’s happening now...and chances are good you don’t even know about it.
What else don’t you know?
Saturn and Pluto are conjuncting in January.
This doesn’t bode-well for any kind of partisan resolution. The primaries are going to be a mess. Things will get incredibly negative. Dems everywhere are going to be eating each other alive as they see those deadlines approaching.
Uranus and Taurus, Saturn and Taurus in Capricorn...boy, watch out. The cycle we’re going to see end actually began with an ushering in of the Citizen’s United movement in January 2010. My how times change.
A critical mass of awareness is coming, however.
People can only take so much before the can take it no more. But what about the generation rebellion?
We’ve already seen the movement begin against the Boomers. Guilt will plague many. Parents - especially those that no they can never retire - will choose to self-expire.
More and more young will come up and speak out and blame their elders. Many of the old people will choose to hide. Their knowledge will be hidden with them.
The young will continue to lash out. Greta Thunburg times 5. There's a pressure, an urge...to redifine...everything.
Politics is the art and the science of the possible.
We must be wary of the self-delusional perception. Many times we’ll be blinded by those we support, and those we oppose. For many of us, seeing clearly this year will be incredibly difficult. Our negativity in the political realm will create myriad problems in all areas of our lives.
The Hopi have been waiting for the great, bright blue star for some time. Their cosmology states that the world has been burned and reborn four times. Some think that the star Betelgeuse is due to explode soon, creating that ‘second moon’ blue star in our sky. What does that portend?
The Hopi know that the people of today have lost all connection with nature. We see this with our addiction to cell phones. The good news is that the human race is simply unable to change until it’s faced with the abyss.
Currently the abyss is staring into us, and we’re staring back.
Who’ll blink first?
