Hello,
I'm a Montana author and I have an idea for a book. It's called Paranormal Montana and it goes into all kinds of things, such as:
Aliens;
Bigfoot;
Flathead Lake Monster;
Ghosts;
Missing People;
UFOs.
I write about this stuff on my website sometimes and it's pretty popular. I wonder if you'd be interested in a compendium of sorts.
Thanks,
Greg
Back in August 2015 I wrote that email to every small Montana publisher I could find.
Of those 10 or so publishers, just one got back to me. It was Chris at Helena’s Riverbend Publishing.
“No thank you,” he said.
No one else bothered to reply.
Well, their loss.
As of yesterday, Paranormal Montana has sold 200 copies.
Sure, that might not be a whole lot for the mainstream publishing business, but it means I’ve made nearly $600 off the book.
The book was released on March 19 and I told you on May 23 how it’d sold 100 copies.
Now it’s up to 200 copies and I have no doubt that early next year it’ll be up to 300 sales.
So much for those Montana publishers; all they saw was a waste of time and money. I saw opportunity.
Maybe 200 sales is nothing to them. For me, it makes this my 12th bestselling book overall.
More, I’m able to give people in Montana a book they actually like to read…and buy.
Also, I took what I learned in university and afterward and used it to create something out of nothing.
Then I sold it, not once, but 200 times now.
That makes me feel pretty good.
Paranormal Montana is a fun book.
It’s an interesting read and if you live in Montana I know you’ll enjoy the strange tales.
Check it out on Amazon or iTunes or anyplace else books are sold.
Well, not anyplace – you won’t be finding it in any Montana bookstores.
Yeah, I emailed all the ones in Missoula – none are interested in carrying my books.
Oh well.
Much like the publishers, their loss is my gain.
