Here in Montana our bought-and-paid-for politicians have convinced us that people in Colstrip are the most important people in the state.
We should be used to this, as politicians always lie to us. We’ll point out some of Denise Juneau’s lies today to make that point.
Finally, the country is just fucked up and I’ll hit on some of that.
So hang on – this ride’s bumpy.
Our Terrible Candidates
Fuck that!
Instead I’ll begin looking at what alternatives we have.
Right now I’d say my chances of voting for people are like this:
- Trump: 50% chance
- Johnson: 30% chance
- Stein: 20% chance
There is absolutely no chance that I will vote for Hillary.
There’s a 50-50 chance I’ll vote for Trump, but honestly, I’m a bit more interested in Gary Johnson and the libertarians.
For instance, we know Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states.
We know tons of people are pissed at Hillary and Trump and will not vote for them.
So what if Johnson and Weld – two former GOP governors, both of whom had two terms – get as many votes as Perot did in ’92…maybe more?
In that case they’ll have a good chance of taking 5 or 6 states, maybe more.
At that point the electoral college will be unwinnable for either Trump or Hillary and according to the 12th Amendment, the election will be thrown to the U.S. House of Representatives where every state will get one vote.
I don’t see our 247 House Republicans voting for Hillary and I don’t see our 187 House Democrats voting for Trump.
I could see them settling on a compromise, which would be the libertarian candidates Johnson and Weld.
That could save the country.
Right now we have Trump going around saying dumb things while he tries to revive the ghost of Nixon and the memory of Reagan.
Hillary is doing everything she can to aid the rich while keeping up the lie that Democrats actually care about working people. So far she’s doing an amazing job – look at MT Dems and how they fall all over themselves for her.
So I might go Libertarian this year.
Why not Jill Stein and the Greens? Well, I went green in 2000 and it didn’t do me or anyone else much good.
Given the choice, I’d go for Johnson.
Colstrip Complainers
Can we sprinkle rose petals in front of their feet as well?
Hell, we just told ‘em they’ve got 6 years to find new jobs.
Man, we never had that kind of notice when I was working in restaurants.
In fact, when I worked in restaurants there was no job security whatsoever.
There were no benefits, no vacations, and the pay was lousy.
But those workers in Colstrip, boy…they get handed everything, don’t they?
Huge salaries each year, benefits, vacations…they’ve got it made.
Alas, all we hear from them is complaints.
Oh, my job is ending in six years, what will I ever do!
Or…
Oh God, we’ll stop mining coal…I never trained myself to do anything else and the country has no use for me…life is so unfair!
I am so sick of those fucking Coltrip workers complaining.
Can you imagine what would happen if our poverty-ridden $8.05 minimum wage nickel insult workers started complaining?
Well, they’d be fired.
What, you don’t like making poverty wages? Well, let’s see how you like making no wages – get the fuck out of here!
Wouldn’t have that at Colstrip, because on top of getting paid bank and making tons of benefits, they also have union support.
My, they have everything over there!
So don’t you worry one bit about those fucking Colstrip workers.
They have 6 years to find new jobs. That’s plenty of time.
Hell, they could even get a 4-year degree in that time and go back and put in 2 more years with the coal outfits.
So let’s stop paying attention to those folks.
Oh, that’s right…it’s an election year – can’t do that!
Who Really Matters
Yeah, save that shit you corrupt mother fuckers.
Look at these three assholes for a moment, will ya?
Do you honestly think they give one shit about you?
They don’t even know who you are.
They do know the rich assholes they call on the phones several hours a day, however, they know them by name.
It’s because those people are useful to them. They give them money.
Oftentimes these are oil and coal companies, and they give those three men you see there money so that they’ll push their agenda.
It’s legalized corruption, and it’ll never change.
It won’t change because those three men you see there are paid to make sure it doesn’t.
You think the pittance you pay them matters? Those three men couldn’t live on $175,000 a year if they tried.
They’re beholden to the rich, and they always will be.
But we don’t care, because that’s alright so long as they have a ‘D’ or an ‘R’ behind their name.
We’ll keep voting for them at the same time we keep bitching about politics.
My God we’re dumb.
Juneau’s Desperation
The issue is public lands and I guess Ballotpedia has the dirt.
Supposedly Juneau “claims that Zinke has wavered on opposing transferring public lands to states and voted to weaken public access.”
Ballotpedia then flat out says that “Juneau’s claim is false” and that “the Bill that Zinke voted for does not authorize the sale of any federal lands.”
I decided to go to Juneau’s site to see for myself. Right away I see her paid staff is back to their lackluster posting schedule, with the last post on July 1.
Guys, you get paid – so work, please!
The main article that I was looking for was put up on June 15 and is called Congressman Zinke Votes to Sell Off America’s Public Lands.
You’ll remember that on June 16 I revealed that Denise Juneau, as a member of Montana’s 5-member Land Board, voted to sell off public lands in Montana on February 16 of this year.
I called her that day but only got her press secretary, Emilie Saunders, on the phone and I never got a call back.
You’ll remember that Emilie Saunders blocked me on social media, so odious does she view my reporting.
I find that odd – I point out the truth, and the Juneau campaign finds it odious. They tell lies about their opponent and they find it wonderful.
I don’t think Denise Juneau is good for Montana.
For a long time I said I’d be voting for her. At this point it’s becoming, I’ll hold my nose and vote for her.
The more I think about it, however, the more I realize I have absolutely no reason or desire to vote for her.
So as of now I’ll be leaving this race blank and I encourage you to as well.
A Few Side Notes
The main reason I don’t want to get into them is because they make me sick.
First up I hear that the vice president of UM will be getting $70,000 in bonuses to boost admissions.
God they’re desperate at the university.
We know the main problems are football, rape, and terrible administration.
I think the influx of Mormons into administration is also to blame, but I guess by saying that I might qualify as a bigot.
Another story I notice is that the Washington Post is saying Trump needs a Gepetto award for saying 20 veterans a day kill themselves.
A Gepetto award is supposed to be for lying.
Well, I guess that is a lie – I’m pretty confident that 22 veterans a day are killing themselves.
Maybe we just shouldn’t discuss this at all – we usually don’t.
Finally I’d like to point out both how corrupt our Department of Transportation is, how incompetent it is at doing its job, and how utterly vile the railroads in this country are.
We’re going to keep 10,300 faulty train cars – cars are prone to crashing and spilling toxic chemicals on the residential communities they go through – until 2029.
- We could fix this.
- We could give people jobs fixing this.
- We could even diverts some of the $500 billion or so we spend on defense to fix this (we know having a private company fix their own problems is a no-no, and it's another thing private companies pay off congressman for).
But we won’t.
Instead we’ll wait 15 years before we do anything.
My God this country’s broken.
I have an immense amount of hope, however. You’re beginning to realize just how much your government doesn’t care about you and how much those running for office lie to you.
You’re looking for alternatives, and those alternatives are starting to crop up.
It won’t be long now, it won’t be long until true change comes.
The rich and entitled are scared of this, they’re very scared.
So have hope – it’s coming.
