I don’t have a TV.
But at work we have lots of ‘em.
That’s where I see the political ads - at work, on the TVs...with the sound turned down.
And it’s getting nasty.
Saw a Knudsen one last night that was against Graybill, calling him a ‘Seattle liberal’ and touting the fact that he’s a lawyer that’s never tried a case.
At the end it had Knudsen in front of his truck with a big, fake smile.
This is just one of the many races I’ll be leaving blank when I get my ballot in 10 days or so.
Here’s my current checklist of races I’m simply not going to vote in because both candidates are terrible:
- Senate
- House
- AG
- Auditor
- PSC
I should remove Auditor from that list, because Roger Roots is running Libertarian. He’s worth my vote, but the other two are not.
I’m also not going to waste my vote on the Supreme Court races - I’ll just leave those blank.
As usual, our local media has failed us big time in those races. We don’t know who these judges are or what they stand for.
Best to just leave ‘em blank.
I’m not going to waste my time voting for Dem Tranel for the PSC here in the west. She has no chance of winning. When we deregulated in the 90s, the districts were redrawn in such a way that Dems will never take that body. And they know this.
All the other races I’ll be voting Republican.
Like most Americans, I’m not really voting for these people. I’m just voting against the other guy/gal.
OPI is a fine example.
I voted for Romano in ‘16, but I’ll be voting for Arntzen this year. Why? Hypocrisy.
Romano’s now tied into the Helena bubble, the political elite. We saw this with the drug charges her husband got.
Some Helena working stiff?
Would have had the book thrown at ‘em
But not Romano. She’s connected.
And I simply cannot stand for that.
The U.S. House is another race that I’ll be leaving blank. Both candidates are terrible.
Matt is some East Coast transplant that wouldn’t care about me even if he knew who I was. If he did know, he’d laugh with his friends about me, calling me a loser. That’s how he thinks about most of us.
Kathleen is a different kind of sinister. She’s a widow that knows what’s best for you. Anyone that can spend a year driving around in a camper truck doesn’t live in the real world of paying bills, taking care of kids, and doing the 9-to-5 routine. She doesn’t know your life, but she does know what’s best for you.
The two biggest slimeballs are running for Senate.
Another race to just leave blank.
The only good thing with the Senate race is that we know one of these assholes will be out of Montana politics for good.
I think it’ll be Steve Bullock, myself.
Overwhelmingly, what we get from these candidates is clear - they do not care about you and I.
They don’t care about our lives, our families, our situation.
They have no idea who we are or what we’re going through on a day-to-day basis.
They pretend they do...oh, they’re good at that.
But you peel away the veneer and the cheap facade and you see who these people really are: insecure nobodies that never really did anything in the real world.
That’s why they got into politics - they couldn’t hack it anywhere else.
And we vote for ‘em.
God we’re stupid!
But you don’t have to be stupid in 10 days when that ballot comes.
Be smart like me - just don’t vote for these fools.
And remember....
Years from now, you won’t even remember what these people looked like, or what their names were.
That’s how ‘important’ they are.
Take some time today to look at your life. Find what is important, and focus on that.
