I’m not planning on putting anything up on this blog for the rest of the month.
The reason is simple - it’s NaNoWriMo time.
That’s National Novel Writing Month for those not in the know.
I’ve done this four years in the past, and each of them produced a book that’s now selling on Amazon.
Four years in a row…that’s a real accomplishment.
But I like to make money, too. How’d that go?
Some of those books did poorly, some did really well. Here’s how it broke down for sales on those books written over one month in November:
- Tarot Card Killer: 72
- Dulce Base: 540
- Colter’s Friend: 725
- Manuel’s Money: 154
That’s over 1,000 sales for books I wrote an average of 1,667 words on each day for a period of a month, or less.
I probably made $2,000 from those sales so far, maybe a bit more.
Not too bad.
Not too bad for creating something from nothing using just your imagination.
And that’s what I’m gonna do this month, too.
This year I’m working on a short novel. I’m not expecting a lot of sales on it, but the thing is nearly writing itself, so that’s nice.
It’s a lot more fun than writing about dry old politicians, I’ll tell you that.
I’m sure we’ll hear about their escapades quite a bit next week in the corporate media.
Have fun reading that.
