Mary Moe’s been busy.
She wrote nearly 1,300 words on why we need to keep schools closed, and the ever-fearful James Conner posted it on his site.
When I first saw this article I got a little worried. But then I laughed to myself. Hardly anyone reads that site.
Here’s the gist of Moe’s argument:
“Going back to school with a pandemic spiking is NOT in the best interest of children. Nor is it in the best interest of their parents…”
Moe spent 38 years in our public education system. She doesn’t need to work - the state pays her a pension every two weeks.
Many parents in this state do need to work, however.
Moe’s not concerned about them. Remember, if kids go back to school...Trump might win.
We know this is how Moe thinks. Consider this line:
"Yes, it’s going to be a lousy fall, with parents either waiting for school to open in November or tearing their hair out trying to get their kids to participate in Zoom classes..."
Hm...why November, and not October or even September?
Because that's when the election is. If you vote for Biden, everything will go back to the way it was. Like magic.
Moe has no medical background whatsoever. Someone that does is the head of the CDC, and this is what he says about schools:
‘“I don’t think I can emphasize it enough as the director for the Centers for Disease Control, the leading public health agency in the world — it is in the public health interest that these K through 12 students to get the schools back open for face-to-face learning,’ Dr. Robert Redfield told lawmakers with the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis.”
Sadly, here in Montana we have a Democratic governor. Most of the major cities have Democratic mayors and Democratic school superintendents.
They know if schools reopen in September, Trump could win. Health has nothing to do with it at this point. I don't think it ever did.
So we’ll do remote learning for the first few weeks, which will likely turn into a month, then two...and so on.
God help us parents.
