I mean, really…a lot of the times the world would be better if we just said what we think.
Sadly, a lot of the times we’re too polite.
We dance around the issues.
We shrug and silently hope that someone else will say what needs to be said.
So let’s say it.
I wasn’t planning on putting up a post today, but I’ve gotten some emails and social media posts over the past few days with some thoughts.
Instead of putting out my replies in email, I’ll just put ‘em here.
Greg, what is this I’m hearing about Alyssa Milano and Rob Quist?
I got into a Twitter discussion/argument with a staff writer for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee after I was first told me of that Milano tweet.
CNS has the full story, but I guess this is some rightwing site so it doesn’t count.
The staff writer and I did a back and forth and it was determined Milano had deleted the tweet about coming to MT. "Maybe she thought it was a mistake" the lady finally admitted.
Better if she doesn't come.
Hell, why not bring in Susan Sarandon? How ‘bout Jane Fonda? What could go wrong?
But then many view Bernie as about the same, at least on GOP side.
Have heard any news when Sanders is coming?
I don't know when he's coming.
A NY congresswoman put a tweet on #mtpol about Bernie coming today (this was April 21, I believe). She later deleted that.
There was nothing on a Bernie site about MT dates, though other states are listed.
I see the Clinton News Network has a story about Perez getting booed at one event.
Mostly, someone said it good yesterday – Bernie’s only going to come to Missoula, and if he doesn’t get his ass here in the next 20 days it’ll be pointless.
The students will be gone by then!
So we’ll see what happens with that.
When is the DNC or DCCC going to spend their money on Quist?
Supposedly the DCCC is giving MT Dems $1 million or so.
We know what MT Dems spend money on, though. Personally, if they don't use a lot of that money to hire door knockers for areas other than Missoula, I'll be disappointed.
The Quist gun ads are not good. I'm feeling embarrassed over them, actually.
I really don't know where Quist stands on a lot of things. He really needs to start hammering. Take the gloves off!
I mean, let’s be honest – do you want to get down and dirty for the next 30 days or do you want to spend the next couple years regretting it?
At this point, I don’t think Quist is going to lose anymore voters – he’s done that already (some people think he won't even get 40% of the vote).
Now’s the time to gain them.
I like Trump’s playbook – say what you think and to hell with it, to hell with anyone that doesn’t like it.
They’re against you already, or not interested, or not voting.
So say something that gets their attention.
Any thoughts on Ivanka?
Yes, dumb cunt comes to mind (as well as dumb cunt syndrome).
That’s what she is – a little daddy’s girl that only got to where she is because of daddy.
And to see that dumb cunt up there on the stage with two powerful European women, Merkel and Lagarde?
What a slap in the face to women everywhere.
Tits and ass, ladies, tits and ass.
Got those and a rich daddy and you’ll go places. Work hard and try to get ahead on your achievements?
Sorry, but that world doesn’t exist.
Will we have an infrastructure bill this year?
Well, we didn’t have one in 2013, we barely had any in 2015, and now in 2017 Bullock is walking away.
That’s what this article says, and honestly, I’m getting tired of his brinksmanship.
When I think of Bullock the walk-away I think of some of my old students. They'd get mad, go off and pout a bit, and look dumb doing it.
That's Bullock in nutshell.
All Bullock wants is a huge surplus for his banker buddies and a huge amount of bonding debt, again, for his banker buddies.
Let’s not forget that Bullock is a slimy lawyer, one from District of Criminals law firm, Steptoe & Johnson.
I actually think Bullock is bad for the state and I’m super happy his political career will be over in 2020.
Sadly, some brown-noser will probably appoint him to the Montana Supreme Court at some point.
I’d love to see Bullock run against Daines in 2020, though.
You think the 2016 campaign was rough? Wait until National Republicans open his closet of skeletons.
Greg, can you believe the city council met for only 13 minutes last night?
Yes, I can believe it.
And actually, it was just 12 minutes...if you go by the city emails and not former Dem staffer, Martin Kidston, over at Missoula Current.
I believe it because I know deep down that every single member of our city council is incompetent.
It’s glaringly obvious.
Those folks get paid $375 last night for those 12 minutes of ‘work’ and meanwhile your taxes have gone up 95% over the past 12 years.
I can’t wait for the municipal election season to heat up.
I promoted my “Fat, Drunk & Stupid” post on Facebook on Sunday and people loved it.
10 comments and 242 likes and a reach of about 5,400 people.
All for just $5.
You know there’s gonna be a shit-ton more posts just like that.
Engen’s gotta go.
Ain’t gonna be no gloves in my campaign.
It’s sharp nails diving right for the jugular.
Thoughts on absentee ballots going out in a week?
Whoop-de-doo.
I vote at the polling place, have ever since my first election in 2000 (Nader, if you must know).
My philosophy is simple – if Dems can only win an election by suppressing voters at the polls, then their Party is about done.
I was appalled that Esquire magazine was running a article using false information from Montana Cowgirl as fact. Today Cowgirl has a total false story again using their own false facts quoted from Esquire. This is a real low.
Yeah, how about Cowturd and their Wikipedia circular reference which goes to Esquire, which in turn points back at the original Cowturd article for proof that Gianforte will run?
I just shake my head, knowing this is business as usual at that site.
I mean, it’s full of anonymous writers that want us to trust them, you know…because they’re a good-guy site and they talk up Dems and talk down GOPers.
And a very small Montana minority just eats it up.
Remember, this site can’t translate its faux outrage into any kind of meaningful wins at the ballot box.
- 1/5 in statewide races last year.
- 0/10 for our U.S. House seat over the past 20 years.
So let those anonymous writers just write and write and write.
Ain’t doin’ ‘em much good.
I’d like to offer one final observation, one pertaining to domestic terrorism.
Once again we see assholes-on-elbows CEOs making a shit-ton of money…and for what exactly?
That list isn’t really good, though, as it just goes up to $21 million.
Take IBM’s CEO, who makes $33 million or more.
Or the fuck-head in charge of UnitedHealth, who makes $31 million.
UnitedHealth laid-off 119 people in Denver in February and IBM layed-off a bunch in March.
That’s why we pay these assholes-on-elbows so much – so they get rid of American jobs.
Thankfully for those CEOs, most Americans live a life of slavery to their phone or TV so don’t give a shit.
