You know that’s what everyone is thinking - Greg Gianforte, just die already!
Dems are thinking it, hoping they can get rid of this conservative asshole that wants to talk up religion and ruin abortion.
But it’s the Republicans that are thinking it most of all.
It’s not really Gianforte they hate - it’s his money.
And let’s be completely honest here - the only reason Gianforte won was because of his money, all three times.
Take away his money, and Gianforte is just <Gasp!> another conservative. Worse, he’s one with baggage, complete with a mugshot.
No other Montana politician would have survived that, they know it, and they hate him for it.
- Not Judy and her bloody laundry;
- Not Denny and his boat accident;
- Not Conrad and his lobbyist problems.
But Greg’ll get by, and my do they hate him for it.
When the time comes that Gianforte is vulnerable, no one will stand by him. He’ll be like Cuomo in New York, hanging by a thread.
Is there anyone in the capitol not looking where/how to sink the knife into the back?
Why do I bring this up?
Because Gianforte caught Covid last week. For people in his age group, there’s a 1% chance that he might die.
I can see ‘em salivating in Helena, 114 miles away here in Missoula. And when I say ‘’em’ I’m of course talking about the GOP.
- What loyalty is there?
- Loyalty to whom, loyalty to what?
Who really has the power?
- Is it Gianforte in the governor’s mansion with his Big Tech money;
- Racicot and the D.C. handlers that tell him what to do, hoping to relive the memories of yesterday;
- Lowly voters, the linchpin of society (or what politicians refer to as the drek on the bottom of their shoes).
What is power?
Some undefined force that allows the ‘stronger’ of society to subjugate the ‘weak?’ Some kind of corrupting influence that turns good to bad? The prison we all willingly hold ourselves in?
So many people come onto the stage at various times, taking their cue from...something only they can see. They come, they strut, and they go.
What really changes?
Most every politician in Montana hopes Gianforte dies. They know if he doesn’t, his money will always stifle their ambitions.
These fools.
It’s not really the money that’s preventing them from winning, but their lack of ideas, their spinelessness...and how boring they are.
We have the gubernatorial debates at 6 on a Sunday morning for a reason - no one cares. If they did, it’d be in primetime, with the corporations falling all over themselves to see who can try to sell us their bullshit the most.
But the politicians in Montana are boring, they know it, so they have to raise money.
Or if you’re Gianforte, you can just use the money Big Tech gave you for the audacity of starting a successful business.
And that’s why everyone in Montana hopes Gianforte dies.
