- First we have Denise Juneau taking money from a corporation that Missoula Democrats call evil.
- Next we have MT Democrats foaming at the mouth over a GOP candidate in House District 3.
- Finally we have a small series of incidents just in the past day that point to terrible party dysfunction at all levels.
Let’s discuss all of those things.
Why?
Well, so we can try and push and pull the MT Democratic Party where we want it to go.
It’s either that or give up on it altogether.
For about 2 years we’ve been hearing how bad Carlyle is.
Carlyle was formed in 1987 as a private equity group and currently has $35 billion in assets.
They do business with various defense contractors, engage in leveraged buyouts, and of course buy up municipal water supplies.
That’s where Missoula comes in, as Carlyle bought up Mountain Water a few years back.
Back in July 2015, Missoula Democrat Pete Talbot said that he didn’t believe Carlyle had “Missoulians’ best interests at heart.”
Many agreed, and Missoula sued Carlyle to get hold of the water company and succeeded.
A big reason for that was just what Talbot said – Carlyle doesn’t have Missoula’s best interests at heart, just their own.
In other words, they don’t care about Montana.
That’s why I find it so strange that Denise Juneau took thousands of dollars from Carlyle.
Well, kind of.
Juneau took $10,000 from the D.C.-based Off the Sidelines PAC…which I profiled back in May.
The big problem is that Off the Sidelines PAC’s biggest donor is Carlyle.
Carlyle has given $40,000 to Off the Sidelines PAC.
Now, does some of that Carlyle money get into the Off the Sidelines PAC donation that went to Juneau?
Because if it did, that means Juneau is taking money from a company that Missoula Democrats just sued.
Why is she doing that?
I’d love to see some newspaper reporter or TV reporter or even radio talk show host ask that.
But they won’t.
You won’t read about it on any other blogs, either.
For the most part, Juneau and her campaign hopes you never hear about this and that they’re able to go the next 3 weeks without it coming out.
Because, really, when you think about it…if this news came out it might convince people that Juneau doesn’t really care about Montana’s interests so much as she cares about corporate interests, or even her own.
Or maybe not.
Democrats are pretty zealous this election and no matter what is said, they won’t change their minds or their votes.
That’s sad.
It means that each election cycle after this, Montana Democrats will have the green light to take corporate money from corporations that don’t have our “best interests at heart.”
MT Democrats are really foaming at the mouth over House District 3.
You’ll remember that I profiled the finances of this race ten days ago.
Democratic incumbent Zac Perry has raised about $9,000 and Republican Taylor Rose has raised about $6,000.
Despite raising more money and being an incumbent, Perry has a good chance of losing this race.
Why?
I don’t know.
I guess it’s the politics in the Flathead.
I’m not sure of the issues of either candidate, but I do know MT Democrats continually bash Rose on social media.

Perhaps that will win Perry back his seat.
After all, you have "Secret Squirrel" Joshua Manning there bashing him. It should be no secret now that Dems are setting Manning up as the 2018 U.S. House candidate. Maybe he's just setting himself up.
Anyways, I can’t think of one reason - besides all that MT Democratic spam - why Perry should win his seat back.
- Who is Zac Perry?
- What has he done?
- How is he helping the state?
Do you have an answer for that? I sure don’t.
Montana Democrats don’t either. It’s why we haven’t seen a single post about Zac Perry or his ideas or why he’s running or what he did in the last session.
But we get tons of stuff on how bad Rose will be.
Strike you as odd?
It shouldn’t – it’s the same strategy Democrats are following nationally: make the other guy look so bad that no one really looks at you and how ineffectual you are.
Hillary has this strategy down pat, and my how Democrats across the land love it!
And perhaps they should. It’s great for winning elections. Come the time to govern, however, you quickly realize you have a lot of people that don’t know how to do anything.
Oh…am I wrong on that?
What has Zac Perry done?
In our final story we’ll just run through the latest fuck-ups that Democrats have created for themselves.
First, we have state newspaper editorial boards denouncing the Democrats’ claim that Gianforte wants a sales tax.
They point to the “0” in his “406” tax plan.
The “0” stands for zero, as in zero new taxes.
Next, we have Secretary of State Linda McCulloch releasing voting records of Lindeen and Stapleton.
One of those people will replace her. It’s sad to see the person responsible for Montana elections doing this.
What’s even worse is that the records she released aren’t correct.
Stapleton says this and so does Lee Enterprises, which got the records as well.
Sounds like a real boondoggle shaping up for Dems.
Finally, we’re not even close to being done here, folks.
There are 3 weeks to go and anything could happen. Just yesterday we found out that our state is paying former workers not to talk.
Talk about what?
If you think you’ve seen it all – either in the presidential or the governor’s race – just wait.
I have a feeling you’ll be shocked, amazed, and put in awe.
Conclusion
- We have a Democrat for the U.S. House seat taking money from a PAC that gets most of its money from a company that Missoula Democrats just sued for not having their “best interests at heart.”
- We have Democrats across the state spamming social media about a GOP candidate instead of informing people who the Democratic candidate is, and what they’ve done.
- We have a series of smaller fuck-ups: the lies about the sales tax, McCulloch’s manipulations, and then the payouts to former employees and whatever else is to come.
This points to serious desperation on the part of Democrats.
Their candidates and their message aren’t appealing enough on their own.
Democrats have to resort to lies, manipulations, and character assassination to ‘win.’
What happened?
What happened to the Montana Democratic Party?
When did it get like this?
How can it change?
