I love getting up each morning and writing out my thoughts.
That said, this’ll be the first post I’m putting up this month and with any luck, it’ll also be my last.
There are several reasons for this:
- Very few people read my stuff;
- There’s so much negativity right now;
- My writing is not changing minds;
- This is not my path.
Last week, 271 people from Montana visited this site. There were five new posts last week, and according to Google Analytics, the most views that any of them got was 19.
Sad sauce. Quite pathetic, actually.
A Warning
Now, I would like to offer a warning...though as I mentioned earlier, few if anyone will care, and we know that no minds are changed online anymore.
Mostly, beware your politicians and representatives, your local officials and the media.
Beware of the ruling class telling you, “Just another two weeks!”, and then telling you at the end of that two weeks, “Just another two weeks!”
Cause it’s gonna happen...has happened already.
I think Americans are at a breaking point now, and I suspect we’ll see some serious civil unrest if our ‘leaders’ think they can keep holding us hostage in our homes for much longer.
There’s no reason we can’t open up the businesses and let people get back to work. If you’re old or in a high-risk group, stay home. Stay home for weeks or months if you want to, but don’t ruin the lives of the 99% of Americans that will never die from this.
More and more Americans are remembering who they are and they’re standing up to their government and telling them, ‘enough is enough.’
We’ll see more Americans stand up as the days go on. It’s not even going to take weeks, as people are already sick of it.
A Final Shot at Reason
People are not interested in reason and logic anymore, and that’s why I know it’s time for me to take an extended break from writing.
People do not care about facts. They only want to be afraid right now.
That’s sad.
We know that in 2018, over 1.7 million Americans came down with cancer and that nearly 610,000 of them died from it. Didn't collapse our economy over it.
That same year, we lost over 67,000 Americans to opiate overdoses. That means that 187 of them were dying each day. No one cared.
In 2016, we saw over 161,000 Americans die because of accidents and accidental injuries. Most were caused by car crashes and accidental poisonings and falls. Few noticed.
Currently, 16 million Americans have COPD, and around 120,000 die from that every year. Most could have avoided this by not smoking. We tell people not to smoke, but they do it anyways. We tell people to shelter at home, but they still head out. Go figure.
Each year, 795,000 Americans have a stroke and 120,000 die from it. No mention in the media.
In 2018 we lost nearly 85,000 Americans to diabetes, a disease that is preventable for most of the people that get it. In fact, from 1988 to 2015, we saw diabetes increase from 6.2 million Americans to 21.1 million. It’s our diet.
I could go on, but I know you don’t care and that your mind is already made up.
A lowly blogger like myself simply cannot keep up with the fear machine that our corporate media has become.
A Bit of Politics
Nancy Pelosi wants every American to vote by mail this November. The third Coronavirus ‘stimulus’ package that was passed on Friday gives the states $400 million for their elections due to setbacks caused by the virus. Pelosi says this is not enough to do the mail-only ballots, so expect to see a lot of talk about this in the coming weeks. Trump will try to block it, as the GOP thinks voting by mail will hurt them.
We know that 59% of Americans think our response to the virus is worse than the virus itself, and that 32% of those folks say the response is very concerning to them. What’s more, 78% of black voters think our response will cause more harm than the virus. 64% of young voters agree. This will play right into the GOP’s hands this fall, as these people usually vote Dem. The longer we stay closed, the more these voters will question the Democrats (Trump is the only one that says he wants to reopen sooner rather than later, and these voters know that).
82% of Americans don’t like that there is pork in the virus ‘stimulus’ package. When we pass the fourth ‘stimulus’ bill in a couple weeks, it’ll have even more pork in it, mark my words.
Over the past two years we’ve privatized much of the VA, something that has resulted in 44,000 healthcare vacancies in the department. We’re gonna see a lot of old veterans die because of this, though I’m sure the media will prevent us from hearing about it.
China shut down again this week, forcing 600,000 to remain inside in the Henan Province after some new cases emerged. Even after ‘reopening’ this past week, businesses didn’t see a lot of business. Starbucks saw about half the traffic they usually do. When America reopens, it’ll be the same. That’s when our second wave of virus layoffs will happen, except this time the layoffs will be permanent.
In a flagrant violation of our First Amendment rights this week, a pastor in Florida was arrested for practicing religion, while in New York, the governor there actually threatened to close churches for good if they open. We’re seeing the Bill of Rights torn up right before our eyes, and we don’t care.
New York has 450 homeless shelters with 70,000 people living in them, and 99 of those people tested positive on Sunday, which tells us that thousands more have it already. Thousands of the infected affluent have already left the city and the state. I suspect many have come to Montana.
It’s figured the country will need 3.5 billion face masks, but the Strategic National Stockpile only has 12 million. Before this crisis, no one knew that stockpile existed...but now all Democrats can do is blame Trump for not stocking it...as if this was on anyone’s radar. Back-and-forths like this are a big reason I won’t be writing this month.
Enjoy April. It’s going to be an exciting month, with interesting changes each and every day. By May, I don’t think we’ll recognize this country.
