I love President Trump!
Everyday, there’s something new. Everyday, there’s another thing you can point to. Everyday, we know this isn’t our usual, bought-and-paid-for politician.
Take the shitholes.
We all know that they’re shitholes, we know this!
I mean…Africa and Haiti?
Pure shitholes.
I wouldn’t want to live there. I can’t think of anyone I know that would want to live there.
So President Trump really nailed this one. And my…Democrats are pissed.
Let them be pissed – it don’t mean nothin’.
Democrats simply can’t win. They can’t translate their faux-outrage into actual wins at the ballot box. And my how they resent this.
Hence, the lashing-out.
They’ll lash out at anything, these days. Most of the things they get angry about don’t affect you, however. In fact, many of the things the Dems get angry about would actually help you.
Take the shitholes.
How is America benefitting from an influx of Haitians and Africans?
I can’t think of one way.
These people are uneducated. They’re not trained for American jobs. And on top of it, if they should come to America, they’ll be dependent on taxpayer handouts for years.
Well…we know how America ‘benefits’ because we’ve followed the money. Take the refugee ‘issue’:
One of the largest refugee resettlement groups actually made $682 million in revenue in 2016. $256 million of that was used to pay themselves (plus $21 million in office expenses and $18 million in employee benefits), while just $21 million was spent on housing refugees.
If you have the audacity to mention this, you’ll be called a racist.
These refugees are actually more profitable if they don’t work. That way the ‘charities’ that see to ‘their needs’ can keep rolling in the money.
If they ever do get on their feet, it’ll just be in low-level service industry-style jobs.
Democrats need more people like this in the country – dependent people that will always look for someone else to take care of them.
And of course those dependents will vote Democratic…if they even vote at all.
That’s really what this shithole debate is about – future Democratic voters.
Dems need shithole natives, and badly. Without ‘em, Dems might not be able to take back this country.
Tester’s Sad Sauce
It’s so sad that one of Tester’s ‘strengths’ is also one of his biggest weaknesses.
I’m talking about veterans.
I heard on the radio this morning that Missoula had 53 veterans kill themselves last year. One of the highest rates in the country, right here in Missoula.
A couple years ago we often talked about the 22 veterans a day that were killing themselves in this country…but then talk like that became unpopular.
Alas, the talk might have stopped…but the suicides have not.
Tester touts his veteran’s bills, and the fact that Trump has signed them. Despite this, nothing in veterans’ lives has improved.
And nothing will.
Falling All Over Themselves
How ‘bout them MT Dems yesterday?
Pretty low-key press conference in the Capitol. I saw they had Jen Gross – someone that was appointed – and Virginia Jenny Eck, doing the speeches in the ol’ rotunda.
Lot to get excited about, huh?
It’ll be fun to see how much Dems spend this year. It’ll be fun to see them lose bigtime come November. Then in January, it’ll be business as usual…all according to GOP rules, of course.
Dems will hunker down, making the most of their minority status. They’re very good at this – they’ve been in the minority since 1991.
But maybe this year will be different.
Maybe the highly-paid staffers at Dem HQ will come up with some new ideas, even a way to win.
But I doubt it.
For one thing, winning isn’t in their best interests.
I mean…if Dems in Montana were winning, why donate money to the Party?
A perpetual minority status is actually better for fundraising. That way you can bitch and complain and cry in your beer…sending it all out in spam emails.
We’re losers…please give us money!
Just doesn’t quite have the same ring as, We’ve won the legislature and we can finally get our way…please give us money!
Anyone that’s dug into the MT Dem finances knows quite clearly that the sole function of the Party is to pay themselves, feed themselves, and travel themselves around.
Helping candidates run for office is not a function of the Party. Helping themselves is.
Wally-World
Can you imagine any of those $3,000-to-$5,000 a month paid staffers at MT Dem HQ actually working at Walmart?
I can’t. I can’t imagine those folks doing any kind of real work.
I might get a job at Walmart. Hell…they’ll start you at $11 an hour.
- When I worked at the University last night, I made a dime over minimum wage.
- When I go to work downtown tonight, I will make minimum wage.
So making $11 an hour appeals to me. Something else is that I put in about 10 applications/resumes a week into various Missoula businesses, yet I rarely get any kind of response.
So maybe I’ll be working at Walmart soon. I think it’d give this site a whole new perspective.
That’s kind of a big thing on this site…having a regular, working person’s perspective.
You simply don’t get this on any other Montana blog. Whether it’s the school teacher at ID, the state staffers at Cowgirl, or the retired folks at Last Best News and Flathead Memo…you just don’t get a working man’s perspective.
But on this site you do.
I mean, hell…I tell you my income! I tell you about my jobs and what happens and what I learn.
No other sites do this.
I’ll continue to do my best to keep my finger on the pulse of the working people of this country, and I’ll do my best to tell you what they think.
That Damn OPI Director/Zinke
I saw that Elsie Arntzen was up in the Flathead yesterday, checking out a school’s new construction, and encouraging students to think about construction as a job.
She’s smart.
Young Montanans would do a lot better for themselves and their families by getting a job in construction.
What’s the alternative?
Maybe a minimum wage job…maybe moving out-of-state…maybe going to university and racking-up $30,000+ in student loan debt.
Yet here’s a Republican woman coming into town saying, ‘Hey, there’s another option!’
We’ll see if the MT Dems attack Arntzen over this. I’m sure they’ll get around to it.
Well, maybe not. After all, that might detract from some of the attacks on Zinke.
God, the Zinke attacks.
What do MT Dems think they’re going to accomplish here? Maybe convincing Trump to fire Zinke? Maybe dissuading Zinke from running for MT office in the future?
Get real.
Zinke ain’t ever coming back to Montana. Should Trump lose in 2020 – or, as I think is more likely, he doesn’t run again – Zinke isn’t coming back here.
There are plenty of K Street and L Street and M Street marketing and lobbying firms that’ll hire him up. That’s hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in income, if not millions. Plus, he’s not accountable to voters.
Why trade that in for a crummy taxpayer-funded, elected office?
Alas, we’ll never see the MT blogs get over their hard-on for Zinke.
I have no problem with this. In fact, I like it when Dems spin their wheels in the mud like this. The elites like it, too – helps with brining those donations in.
