Today I decided to head to the downtown farmer’s markets to see what was going on.
I walked around a bit and got some images.
After that I’ll show you some images from my garden.
Enjoy!
A Walk Downtown
I headed down around 11 AM, walked around for an hour, and made it back to my car just as a heavy rain began.
Here’s what I saw:
Missoula Gardening Tips
Here’s my set-up…at least how it looked back at the end of April:
So I’ve got this balcony that’s about 15 or 20 feet above the ground.
It’s the only place I can plant flowers and vegetables as there are deer in the yard all the time.
I have those bricks there, which I got on the side of the road for free one day.
The plan’s to lay down some tarp and set those out on one side of the balcony, the side that gets the most sun.
I have plans for some vegetables and lots of flowers there.
At the end of April I broke out last year's pots and what soil I had leftover. I mixed the soils up with some of the old soil in some pots that'd been sitting on my back porch.
After that I put that soil into the various pots, which will await the indoor seeds.
I also planted some Salvia flowers in a single pot, about 30 seeds or so.
Those will join the various seeds I already have going by the back porch sliding glass door.
I also put seeds of some sort into that egg carton that day.
Those didn’t do too well…but everything else is coming along fine.
Here are images of what things looked like about 5 weeks later:
So it’s coming along.
One of my sunflowers in a garden area I planted down in the yard was eaten by a deer.
Besides that, it’s going well too.
And that’s about all I have for you today.
Have a super weekend!
