Awesome!
You might remember my post of a month or so ago called I Unpublished 12 Books Today.
That was me taking books down from Smashwords so I could get them into Amazon KDP, where they might perform better.
How will they perform better? With Kindle Countdown Deals, that’s how!
I’m going to be doing some serious eBook promoting this year. Why? Because last year I really didn’t take advantage of Amazon KDP free days or Kindle Countdown Deals. I’m not going to make that mistake this year, and that’s why I’ve scheduled a lot of promos already.
Here they are:
Sell Your Book: January 23-24
Florida Sinkholes: January 29-February 2
Design Your Book: January 31-February 1
Black Walnut: February 2-3
Tour Your Book: February 7-8
The Hirelings: February 9-11
Sell, Design & Tour Your Book: February 13-15
Bring Back Our Girls: February 14-15
Tarot Card Killer: February 17-19
Dulce Base: February 20-21
The Warring States: February 23-24
Wake Up, Detroit: February 29-March 1
The Warring States Box Set: March 6-8
Every single one of those single titles will be a $0.99 sale. They’ll primarily take place on the weekend and go for just one day.
For the Sell, Design & Tour Your Book deal, that’s just in the UK, and that will be marked down 51%, to $4.99.
The Warring States Box Set is the same, going from $9.99 to $4.99 for just one day, and here in the US, a savings of 51% as well.
Florida Sinkholes will be given away for free on its promo days, as will Bring Back Our Girls. The latter will make a fine Valentine’s Day treat, don’t you think? I sure hope you can download those free books on those days…and leave a review. (Don’t worry, I’ll remind you)!
- First, they’ll boost those books up in the rankings. All promos give you a rankings boost! Since my sales are just 24 hours, I should be on the charts still when the price goes back to normal, and still have half the weekend to draw eyes. Great strategy!
- Then, I have a chance to get more reviews. Reviews are important, and since all my deals are paid and not free, there’s a good chance they’ll be good reviews. Lord knows I have enough bad ones.
- Next, I can promote these books, and since I know when the deals are for the next 8 weeks or more, I can schedule them and get them paid for. In fact, I’ve already schedule Dulce Base for another Bargainbooksy run. If you book in advance, it often makes it easier to get a spot for books with few reviews.
- Finally…why not? These books are just sitting there, and if I’m not promoting them and getting them boosted onto their respective Top 100 charts, what good are they? Sure, I can look at them and point and tell my friends how many books I wrote, but that doesn’t put food on the table. And besides, with a Kindle Countdown deal, I’ll get 70% earnings at $0.99, not the usually 35%.
I know a lot of you have been thinking of buying one of my books, so now’s the time to put it on the calendar or make a notification reminder on your phone. And if a book is free, please download it – it’s the least you can do for all this free content!
Now’s the time, and don’t be afraid to put those dates on your calendar like I did with my eBook marketing calendar. Thanks!
