And my, what an incredible ride it was.
It started in March when my book sales shot through the roof.
It continued right on that way for the next three months, then this month things began to mellow.
Here, see for yourself:
July has not been good to me.
It worries me.
It makes me ask the question, ‘is the ride over?’
Maybe it is, and if so…what does it mean?
Well, first of all it means a serious reduction in income, as you can see here:
You have to wait 60 days after a book sale to get paid, so you can see that my March sales really shot my income up for May.
I expect those income totals to remain high until the end of September, maybe the end of October.
At that point I’ll be making just a few hundred dollars a month again.
That’s not good, as my income from freelance writing has all but disappeared.
I’ve known for sometime that my freelance writing income has been going down.
I’m not sure why, except there doesn’t seem to be as much of a demand for writing and editing work…at least where I look for it.
So I expect that income to remain low, and now in a couple months I’ll have really low eBook income as well.
What to do?
I guess I’ll have to get a real job.
Damn, it’s been more than 3 years since I’ve had to do that, but what can you do?
I guess I could try and get those eBook sales up, but honestly, I’m not sure why they shot up in the first place…or why they’ve fallen back down.
I guess I got lucky, maybe even blessed.
Perhaps God or the universe or something knew I needed a little success, a little bit of money.
It helped – I got my car repaired and I’ll be able to move into a new apartment at the end of this month.
So I’m very thankful for the incredible ride I had for these past few months.
Perhaps I’ll be lucky and have an incredible ride again sometime.
If not, oh well – I sure enjoyed it while it lasted!
