Why the hell would I do such a thing?
Because they were on Smashwords and they were moving slower than snails running late.
What were these books?
- The Warring States
- The State of Chu
- The State of Qin
- Tarot Card Killer
- Black Walnut
- The Hirelings
- Wake Up, Detroit
- Ale Quest
- SEO & 80s Movies
- Florida Sinkholes
- Bring Our Girls Back
So…can you still read these books? Yes, of course – I’m not that stupid! It’s just that you can’t read them on iTunes or Barnes & Noble or Google Play or Kobo or any of the other places that you weren’t reading them from anyways.
The State of Chu had 5 sales and The State of Qin had 4 sales. Tarot Card Killer had 3 sales and The Hirelings had 2 sales.
Everything else on that list had just a single sale…and that’s just the fiction books for the most part. I bet if I looked at some of the 11 ESL books I have, there’s probably one or two that haven’t gotten a single sale all year.
I’d rather not look.
The good news is that all these books are now in the Amazon KDP Select program, which means they can be borrowed and people with Amazon Prime can get them and it’s just good.
Many of those books are short reads, so you can power through them in a couple hours or less. And they’re priced good, too…meaning you can still spend money for the holidays.
What I will do is put the date for those books on my 2015 self-publishing calendar, and that way I know when the KDP date is up (or am I the only one that forgets that?).
All in all, it’s taking action where action’s needed, and you’re going to have to do that a lot to stay on top in 2015. Good luck!
