I did this over the course of February, and it wasn’t that bad. It took time, but their wasn’t much pain in formatting. Really, I needed to update some of those books.
So what can you do to get your books on D2D? I’d start with one. That’s what I did, doing Tarot: The Mystery and the Mystique first. That was my trial run, and after about a week the book was live on all channels.
The problem with D2D is that some channels are slower to publish than others, and a book won’t be fully published until all of those sales channels are listed, like this:
You get an email when it goes to each one, so you can look for the logo changes, like this one:
I realized later that I was just making a mistake and could see those. Still, I’m done now – I have all my books off Smashwords but my perma-free novel Lightning. I also have all my fiction in Amazon exclusively now, because that’s where it sells. Yeah, it never sold on the other retailers, just my nonfiction.
Go figure. Anyways, I’m happy with this setup and look forward to my first monthly payment soon.
Thanks for reading!
