They have a picture library I have to choose from, but the good news is you can zoom in and out. That’s why that weird bulled-riddled thing is behind Destro on that last book there. This is what that would normally look like:
So what about the next six books in the series…The Rise of Coil is 10-volumes, right? Damn straight it is and those six books are in the planning stages. Here is what the working titles and covers look like:
It’s getting to those books that’s a little more of a problem. Right now I need to write “Jungle Attack,” which was originally planned as the first in a shorter 3-part trilogy within the series. You see a continuation of that with “Mountain High.”
At this point I’m thinking of condensing that trilogy into these two books and having the next book serve as a kind of bookend to those. Book 8 will be a standalone with Snake Eyes that I think will become the most popular book in the series, and really throw people for a loop.
The key is figuring out the timing on all these and how events happening simultaneously in one book can be reconciled and dealt with in other books.
It’s a big problem and often makes people want to throw their hands up and walk away, which is perhaps what I’ve done this past month.
Well the time has come to get back to work and perhaps just writing and letting those things work themselves out is the best route to take. Or maybe not – the books sell terribly and none of them had even a single sale in June. Oh well…just remember that R.L. Stine wrote these books before he made it big:
That’s the idea, so I’ll stop writing this post and get cracking. Until then, I highly recommend you check out the first four books selling on Amazon now. Yo Joe!
