Well, what did you think?
Yeah, I thought so.
And that’s why I’ve decided to update my services page. So what does that mean?
I took out a lot of that old garbage, those rinky-dink sites that I wrote some content for. Most of those were a year old.
So what did I put in their place? Just a price list. Yeah, that’s about it.
So what do I charge for writing? The following:
- 500 Word Blog Post - $20
- 1,000 Word Blog Post - $40
- eBook Formatting & Upload - $150
- Website Content Package - $250
- Nonfiction eBook - $550 (starting price)
- 25,000 Word Novel - $1,500
- 50,000 Word Novel - $2,500
No, those prices aren’t a joke – that’s what I charge. And yes, people pay those prices. Sometimes they pay more.
Why would they do such a thing? Because I can write and they can’t.
It’s not rocket science, anyone can do it, but it takes practice. And practice takes discipline. Most people don’t have that. But they do have lots of money. And so we make a deal.
I do most of my work on Freelancer, where I have 175 reviews. Most of them are for jobs with the prices listed above.
I didn’t always make that much. I worked for people in Pakistan for awhile when I started, making $3 for 500 words, sometimes less. A couple weeks ago I had someone in the UK pay me $225 for 900 words.
How long did that take me? Maybe 30 minutes.
You realize after a time that you can do what others can’t – research and writing. It’s a sought after skill.
So if you know anyone that needs some writing work done, point them my way.
