After all, I’ve suffered the adversity of few if any sales on many books and don’t feel entitled to sales when a book is released. Many authors do, and this inhibits them from writing more (they’re too focused on marketing).
Now, each week I tally up my eBook sales on Amazon. I didn’t get around to it until yesterday, but when I did I saw that I’d passed 1,000 sales sometime over the past week.
Below is the spreadsheet I use to track them:
That’s pretty good for just 3 months, which leads me to believe my sales could be twice as much this year.
But there is a slight problem. You can see that in January I sold 153 books, February just 105, and now in March I have 65. So each month sees nearly a 50% drop in sales.
I’m not sure if that trend will continue, and I’m not sure what I can do about it. Yeah, I guess I could do some advertising, but I haven’t had much luck with that lately.
Overall, I think I’ll just write more books, forget about the old ones, and hope that something eventually takes off.
What else am I supposed to do?
