Now, why is this?
There are a couple of reasons, three main ones that I can think of:
- I’m working on a big novel for someone else and am tired of working on it;
- I’m working on a non-fiction book for someone and I’m bored of the topic;
- I’m bored with the few writing projects I have going at the moment for myself.
If I’m bored of writing this stuff, why would anyone want to read it? I guess that’s why it’s good I’m not writing it right now.
Sometimes you need to take a break from writing, maybe do more social media marketing or editing or just watching a movie or reading a book…or even knocking on doors.
My word counts have reflected this all week, as I’ve been doing less than 1,000 words most days since Monday. I’m just not motivated to work!
What can be done? And do I want to do anything? Maybe now would be a good time to throw in the towel and get a job at Denny’s.
Or maybe I should just work on something else. But how many open projects do I need? Perhaps buckling down and doing it, getting this old stuff done and out the door, would be a better strategy.
Maybe I should just play some old computer games.
