So what can you do to get over this hurdle? Hire an expensive cover designer? That's one option. But what if you could do it yourself, making great DIY eBook covers quickly and easily just like a pro? That's what Derek Murphy wants you to do.
Derek Murphy has a site called Creativeindie that has lots of information for authors. Derek's originally from Portland, Oregon, but travels around quite a bit and supports himself through great eBook covers.
I mentioned his site in my book Design Your Book and also put his site on my Top 10 eBook Cover Design Sites post a couple months ago.
It’s a new service that allows you to become a member of the site. What you’ll get are:
- 80 Fiction eBook templates;
- 70 Non-fiction eBook templates;
- User Guides;
- WordPress plug-ins.
More things are coming soon, and this isn’t totally off the ground yet, but it’s good to start planning for next year early. If you want more information I’d contact Derek on his site. Let’s take a look at a few features you can find with this service.
Quick Start Guide
Here’s one picture from the PDF to give you an idea of what it looks like:
Awesome eBook Cover Templates
I know a lot of people can put books out quickly. I do that, but some authors do it even faster. Romance and Erotica authors can put out short titles by the week, or sometimes even a few titles a week. I’m serious! For them having the ability to make quality covers on the cheap is probably quite enticing.
Free eBook Marketing Advice
This weekend he’s putting his book Book Marketing is Dead out for free from December 20 to 24, and anyone who is interested in eBook marketing and eBook covers should check it out.
Overall a lot to choose from, and I think it'll be worth your time to check out what this guy can do!
