What are you going to do, Jon Tester?
I’d go back to that article from November 26 called Squeezing the lemon: VA woes continue to plague state's mental health services by Alex Sakariassen.
Now, aside from newspapers not using capital letters on headlines and subheadings, and just the terrible headline of this article in general, what is wrong here?
Well, the same thing with all Democrats in America today – there is no plan.
Jon, you got damn angry about that in whatever committee hearing or room or dank basement of the Capitol they put you in for the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee on “Veterans’ Mental Health and Suicide,” I know you did. Because when you’ve got to listen to dipshits like Mental Health Services chief consultant Harold Kudler and how he “failed to offer any specifics on how new funding would impact recruitment of new mental health practitioners,” I know it makes you want to blow your top.
And I know this because he’s never washed dishes at Helena’s Silver Star Steak House restaurant, where he may well have run into a salad and desert lineman by the name of Ivo.
It was probably a disagreement over meth, or while on meth, or some permutation of that. See, Ivo was fucked up for a long time, but Ivo made the decision to change, get his life together, and get a real job.
And more than that, he went to the Helena College of Technology to study chemical dependency with the goal and desire of one day helping addicts and former addicts like himself, and was damn close to getting certified when I quit that shit job.
We’ve got 22,000 veterans in western Montana alone, and you’re telling me you’re going to find someone better at knowing what a veteran is going through than a veteran? Kill two birds with one stone and take a huge portion of that $16.3 billion allocated for this VA boondoggle and train our veterans to help each other!
