After that I can go to the ATM and use the card to activate the account. Once that’s done I can start spending money.
All of that puts me behind.
I didn’t even know that Montana candidates needed a separate campaign finance account until I attended the Montana candidate school I went to on January 22. I should have gone out on January 23 and got that bank account opened, but I waited until my first donations came in before doing so.
Thankfully I got on the ball and sent out 24 donation letters a couple days after that candidate school. I sent out 3 more this week and might do a few more next week.
Overall the response has been good. Lots of people have given me money and now I have enough to get things rolling.
I found out today as well that a state-shaped name tag will only cost me about $7. That’s great news! Printing has also been secured, now I’m just waiting on photos, if I choose to get more.
All in all it means I should be able to get out and knocking on doors in the next 10 days. Hopefully there won’t be as much snow as there was today.
