Great…but what the hell does this have to do with Montana?
Oh, I think it’ll soon have a lot to do with us, and in ways that aren’t good.
You see, Cantor will be going to the same firm that employs Roger Wood. Now, as some of you might remember, Roger Wood is a big player in the Mountain Water lawsuit here in Missioula. In fact, Wood is set to receive millions, but only if that deal goes through. If the deal doesn’t go through he and his firm will be out a lot of time and money…all for nothing.

Reeks of coming scandal and disaster to me, but then I’m not elected, so what do I know?
As for Cantor, I’m sure he’ll do his best to ensure Moelis & Co. continues to profit – it’s his job after all. But it’s just that the way Moelis & Co. profits is through vulture capitalism, coming in and taking out other companies, using shady deals to enrich themselves, and generally taking advantage of every corporate loophole in the book…and then some.
Having someone like Cantor on the staff – a man who helped write those corporate loopholes – will surely benefit Moelis & Co., ensure Missoulians get screwed even more, and that the company’s April IPO stock price looks like chump change compared to what’s to come.
Ah, morning in America – the smell of corporate and congressional corruption.
