No, it’s not a special session to fiddle with healthcare – it’s a reception for Amanda Curtis. But it’s a whole lot more than that, really – it’s a show of support from all the party higher-ups.
Who are they? People like:
- U.S. Senator Jon Tester
- U.S. Senator John Walsh
- Governor Steve Bullock
- Lt. Governor Angela McLean
- Secretary of State Linda McCulloch
- State Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau
- Commissioner of Securities & Insurance Monica Lindeen
So what’s going to happen? Well, who knows? I do know they’ll get at least $50 a pop from everyone showing up to the venue, which is Bert & Ernie’s restaurant. There’s also a no-host bar, terminology with always confuses me. How do I get a Sex on the Beach?
What’s interesting is that John Walsh will be there as well as Amanda Curtis. I’m pretty sure it’ll work like this, as you as shown in the below photo:
Of course they could be upstairs in the private banquet room. There the ceiling is lower and the walls closer. The windows are curtained, everything is bright. Environments like that are not conducive to the keeping of the cool, especially on nothing more than appetizers over a 3-hour period.
There’s something about being in a restaurant for 3-hours and only eating appetizers. You feel wronged in a way, and one’s better nature often takes a vacation. Words are said that perhaps shouldn’t be, alcohol moves more quickly through bloodstreams already running far to thin.
I won’t be at Bert & Ernie’s tomorrow, and that’s a shame – it sounds like some exciting things could happen! Maybe you’ll drop by and wish Curtis luck and also give some of those elected officials a little hell for me as well.
