I’d originally called the article “A Troubling Time in Missoula,” but I guess that headline wasn’t good enough…or just too ambiguous.
Ambiguous means it doesn’t make one damn bit of sense.
Anyways, Missoula needs better jobs, the headline got that right, and that’s what I say in the article. And we’ve gotten some damn good commentary on the article from some anonymous commenters. Overall, another letter to the editor that will be forgotten before the day is through.
Another good letter today was called Parks, trails bond: Homeowners feeling the pain, and it pretty much lays out what I’ve been trying to say here for months – we can’t keep raising property taxes in Missoula to pay for things we don’t need.
God, this is such a terrible strategy, and it allows Republicans to win. Because damn, it’s so easy to run against someone that raises taxes and can’t justify what the money’s spent on. And are you going to try and convince me that these close Missoula races were some kind of fluke, that Obama was the problem?
People are feeling the pinch big time, and guess what, no one is getting more money each month! Seniors are stuck at their Social Security checks, poor workers are stuck at their service industry wages, and students and former students and graduates can’t get decent jobs that allow them to pay off debt while starting families, buying homes, or making large life decisions.
Someone get Bullock off that stage, stick a sock in his mouth when he trumpets that low unemployment rate in Montana compared to the nation! Read my letter today - jobs are terrible!
God, when did he lose his marbles? And who’s the bozo that thinks he’s going to have a future past whatever bum-fuck day it is in January, 2017?
What’s he going to run on in 2016? His time spent out of state raising money for other candidates? Guess what we don’t need in politics – another defeated politician working as a glad-hander and fundraiser. No one needs that guy.
While I understand the Democrats are down now after the election – it’ll be Daines and Zinke on those phones to donors on January 20th, not Curtis and Lewis – raising money isn’t going to solve any of your fucking problems.
What are the Democrats’ problems?
- People don’t have any respect for you;
- You’re all talk, no action;
- Running on accomplishments that don’t exist;
- Raising as much dark money as Republicans, if not more;
- The inability to stand up for anything;
- No spine;
- No passion.
Where’s the aggression? Where’s that lion in a jungle that sees that gazelle and goes after it? Because when you see something you want, you take it.
What do Democrats want? Hell, here’s an easy one – what do Democrats stand for?
Don’t direct me to some tired planks in a worn-out party platform – look me in the eye and tell me something like you mean it, like you want it, like you’d tear something’s fucking head off to get it!
I’ve yet to see a Democrat in Montana today that’s doing that, and it’s a damn shame.
