South Avenue Redesign (click for Missoulian link) I drove my wife and son up to work early today, and that allowed me to listen to a bit more of KGVO’s Talk Back Radio.
Today they were talking about the South Avenue Redesign project, which happened way back in 2005. It’s now been 10 years later, and it’s worse than ever.
Twice now the City of Missoula has lost in court, and they’ve been ordered to pay damages to the property they stole from those people.
That’s right, this is a crime, and it’s one you find in the Bible. These city officials are criminals, they’re thieves. They took land illegally because they didn’t know the right of way was 60 feet not 80 feet, and then when a district judged ordered them to pay $115,000, they got their lawyers and said no.
Now the bill is more than $302,568 and the city has been ordered by the Montana Supreme Court to pay. They again say they will not, so another lawsuit is planned.

Remember, this is taxpayer money, so the city has already wasted almost twice as much more than they’d originally had to. And never forget, that money was a waste, that redesign is terrible.
They never would have had to waste any money to begin with if they just would have left the roads the same. But then the developers wouldn’t have gotten their money.
A real leader would go to those residents’ houses and knock on the door and hand them a check tomorrow.
But we don’t have leaders in this town, we have criminals. And many of our local politicians like nothing more than to have their photo taken with those criminals.
