If you’re an inexperienced candidate, that means you’ll be tarred and feathered and made to look worthless. If you’re an incumbent it means that you’ve done work for the nation (i.e., sat in a call center for 30 hours a week raising donations for your next election).
Here in Montana, however, we don’t much care what a candidate has done…because we don’t ask. I mean, I’m sorry, but how many questions has Daines been answering on that campaign trail – four, five…even that?
Remember, Steve Daines introduced 19 bills and 6 floor amendments, and he got 3 of those bills passed and all the amendments, so he’s done something. Amanda Curtis, well…not so much.
So that means we won’t be able to look at Amanda Curtis’ record, but we can look at the record of Steve Daines. Let’s go!
Impacting Our Economy
Damn, Steve Daines is someone that will make Montana lose $29 million in just one month. Why would you want someone like that on your staff? I wouldn’t let that person clean my toilet – they might break it.
A Tax Policy
Your pocket is no different, whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat in Montana. See, Daines voted on March 21, 2013, to increase your taxes by $250 million. The reasons? Those rich folks had to have their rate lowered from 39.6% to 25%.
Don’t ask me why, but I think those trips to the Hamptons, Australia’s Gold Coast, and Chichen Itza probably had something to do with it. Me? Well this holiday I’ll be taking a trip to the local VFW to see if they have any free turkey to go around.
Putting Up With Families
No, if he has to think about Montana families it’ll just be to figure out how he can screw them more. See, Daines supported the Republican budget that would take away $1.2 million from Montana’s Child Care and Development Block Grant, something that had a direct effect on 360 children.
What was the effect? Well, those kids stand a much higher chance of catching infectious diseases like the enterovirus, being malnourished due to lack of food and meal planning, and of course are at a much higher risk of running into problems with the police later on.
But those aren’t Steve Daines’ kids, so what do they matter?
Abiding Our Veterans
Nope, Steve Daines would rather vote against veterans by not giving them money for retirement, health services, or even help with brain injuries after getting their sub-par Humvees blown to hell.
If you’re in the military now then that means Steve Daines voted against the measly 1% raise President Obama wanted.
Steve Daines voted against the $157 million for sexual assault prevention programs in the military, as well as the $25 million that was needed for sexual assault victims counseling. It’s alright, though – you know the Daines daughters will never serve their country in that capacity.
I could go on…but what’s the point? Steve Daines isn’t right for Montana, or anywhere else in America as far as I’m concerned.
