I knew such a great story deserved better covers than I could design. I’m more of a writer than a designer, and I don’t know anything about Photoshop. So I put some black background bars on the top and bottom of each of my pictures, slapped the title and name on there, and called it a day.
I used those covers when I first published the Warring States books back in January, 2013. I always knew I needed to get around to making some new covers, but I never seemed to find the time. Finally I got some people to design a few different cover variations, and you can see the results.
The Warring States, the first volume in the series, is the longest and serves as your introduction to ancient China. All of the states are mentioned and seen, and it’s quite the read, coming in at well over 300 pages.
The next two volumes, The State of Chu and The State of Qin, are much shorter works, and cover developments as those states build up their power among the other Seven States.
I’ve got plans to begin working on a fourth volume, probably called The State of Wei, and I even have an outline. It’ll have to take a backseat to some other things I’m working on, and which I hope to reveal shortly!
Until then, enjoy the new covers, hopefully on your Kindle or other eReader!
